race. What a precious name. It orginates from the Latin word 'gratia' meaning charm. How lovely... and that's exactly the effect this sweet little girl had over me from the moment I held her. Grace was much more alert than your average 6 day old, so we waited and fed and waited and fed...all while she had her own ideas of what a newborn photo session should be like. After all, no one told her that newborns are supposed to sleep...no, not Grace...she had coos to conjure, smiles to perform and her people to charm! And I was happy to be one of her 'people' yesterday. She did finally settle and drift off to sleep... for a whole 15 minutes! I think her parents are in for a wild ride! ;)



Grace, hit the jackpot with her parents, Casey and Rob. You might remember them from Casey's Lifestyle Maternity session I did not long ago.

e had the distinct pleasure of meeting Miss Eliza last week and since we adore her parents and grandparents, we couldn't have been more excited to photograph her first week of life. Her adorable nursery was bathed in light as we walked in, and trust me, nothing compliments a newborn more than soft natural light. She was a complete gem and slept through most of our prodding, posing...and she may have even cracked a smile at Grant's jokes. For those of you that have followed our blog early on, you might remember her parents, Stacey and Nathan. They helped launch our wedding photography business back a few years ago on a hot sweltery August afternoon at Berkeley Plantation. What an honor to come full circle and capture their precious little girl!

think I set a world record tonight...ok, so maybe not a world record, but it has to be some kind of record, even if it's just my own, right? I actually had a shoot and blogged the images all in the same day. I know, a little crazy...but when your subject is this C-U-T-E, how could I not? ;)

We've known Melissa and her whole family for what seems like forever. She was the babysitter for our kids and was the kind of girl that when you came home, your house was cleaner than you left it. Not only that, she loved doing it all...the kids...the house...and Melissa was a good companion for a mom who had 3 babies in 4 years, and at times thought she would lose her mind. ;0

Which is why when she finally had a baby all her own, we celebrate! Melissa is the perfect mom and Baby Abigail? Well this little angel could not BE more loved. In fact, she's a little famous... the first grandchild after a looooongng line of stinky boys ;) and even though she was a preemie, girlfriend is catching up quite nicely.

Melissa...I had so much fun with you and your mom today and I can't believe we live so close. I've got your back now kiddo!
