hen Lauren emailed a few months ago, she wanted me to help her surprise Chris for their first year anniversary. I LOVE surprises, so I was all in!

The traditional gift for one's first anniversary is paper, and she had thought of the perfect medium...photography! We both reveled in her cleverness as we met up at their adorable home one afternoon to concoct her plan. She told me how she and Chris have been diligently restoring their old home in downtown Ghent, so it was only fitting that it would be the perfect starting point for our shoot. Then as we talked, she mentioned a trendy clothing boutique that Chris was opening in a month. 'Provisions' is his baby...a vision finally coming to life through many years of planning and labor.  So our plan entailed starting at their home, then the store, and culminating downtown at sunset. All Lauren had to do was keep it a secret till one week before the shoot...then and only then would she let him in on the surprise!

Well...she didn't make it that long...but he was excited none the less when he found out! ;-)

Lauren and Chris...you were dream clients and I had so much fun with you last Monday! My only regret was that we didn't have longer...honestly I could have shot all night! I hope your second year will be even more exciting and will naturally progress into many many more amazing years to come. ;-)
