here did the week go? I turned fortysomething last Monday and Lindsae turned EIGHTEEN on Tuesday! We celebrated all sorts of ways and then superbowl weekend arrived to find me with a big screen tv and a head cold. Whew!
I would still be wallowing in my tissues if it weren't for some relatives coughcoughRobinandTamicoughcough...who emailed to say that I'd better get my butt to this blog again.
So, with that in mind, I'll post a 'drive by' of photos from the week and the facts I can remember, before it all turns to random blather.
1/28 Me, the morning of my birthday. I'm not really sad here...it just takes more skill than I posses to stand in front of the hall mirror, check for eye shadows, remember to lift that chin, make camera adjustments, smile, suck in the tummy...and click the shutter. ;-)
If I look slimmer in the mirror...it was BEFORE this LOBSTER lunch at my mom's house!!!
and real authentic cheesecake baby...
...came home from that feast, then took the day off from design work to enjoy time with the family and digest that lobster...
1/29 Lindsae's eighteenth bday...(how can this be happening?) After driving the boys to school, we met up with Ampa, Amma, Auntie Robin, Paige, Madison and Mimi at Golden Coral for birthday breakfast! Lindsae opened up presents to find a plushy robe and lots of fun prizes all colors of the rainbow.
a pretty picture by cousin Paige!
...that afternoon, we picked the kids up from school a little early and drove to one of our favorite restaurants an hour and a half from home for more celebrating that involves eating (notice a common theme here?) In the car, on our way, I gave L an IPOD cover she's been wanting called Domokon.
back story: I received an email one day with a picture of this 'creature' begging, "Mommy, will you make this for me?"...how could I refuse? I had to pull out all the mad sewing skills for this one though, whew!) and don't you LUV her Vanna pose?
We commenced with shopping at L's favorite store...Hollister. Domokon and the boys were bored...can you tell?
Oh and our plan is to have L's bigger party on the 17th, when she's not working and all here friends and family can come. She's picked a rainbow theme...how fun is that?
1/30...With parents and a boyfriend that drive her wherever she wants to go, Lindsae has never been in a mad rush to get her license. However, today after school, she took her final test and PASSED! whooohoooo! So she celebrated by driving my car to school and then to work. She looks awfully cute in it too!
I don't think her Daddy is ready for this many adjustments in one week...what do you think? Poor Guy, I think he needs a hug. ;-)

2/2 On Saturday, we helped out with a surprise party for niece Stephanie who turned SIXTEEN! I'm making up a published book with all the photos in Blurb so I don't want to spoil any surprises...but I thought it would be fun to post a few from the evening.
quick, can you guess what gift she just opened?...
her own sassy little red Saturn SUV!!!
2/3 then ...apparently to ease a little pain...Grant went shopping for his birthday present 2 weeks early. Let's play eye spy a BIG BLACK TV!!!
