ne of the interesting things about having 3 teenage children...is that they bring their friends home all the time. So every weekend we have 'extras' around. Which usually means we need extra food...extra blankets and pillows, and we need to share the family room. Sure it's full here in this small house, but honestly, Grant and I feel honored that our kids perceive 'home' as a cool enough place to hang out with their friends. We wouldn't trade it for anything right now.
Case in point, yesterday afternoon (remember it was Homecoming), Lindsae saunters in from school with her pal, Lindsay and says...
"Mom, Lindsay is going to get dressed here, and then Maria is showing up with Codie at 5:00. Can you do her hair, makeup and nails?
4 cars in the driveway at this point.
A little later, we add to the party, one set of Granparents, one Auntie, and two cousins...
make that 5 cars
then Lindsae announces, "Mom, Tim is coming here to pick up Lindsay...is that OK?"
I'm counting 6 cars, plus the one picking up Mason....so 7 occupying our gravel.
So my best advice on becoming the parents of teenagers....install a large driveway!
here are a few 'friend' photos....they sure clean up nicely don't they?
