It was a drizzly, wet wedding day as we ducked under the tent for a quick break and loaded our plate with her amazing mac-n-cheese when we first heard it; Cathy was getting married! And when she told us, her eyes smiled as we sat and captively listened to her excitedly talk about the day and her man, “Chips.”
We didn’t get to meet Chips until later, but from the endearing descriptions, we knew he was her “man.” And when we did meet, it felt like we already knew him. He was, in fact, the perfect gentleman she described months before in that outdoor tented kitchen. The only thing she didn’t say was how eerily he resembled Sen. John McCain.
And the other thing she didn’t tell us was just how off-the-chain her wedding reception was going to be. But anyone who knows Cathy, knows that's how she rolls; it’s always amazing when she’s involved – in anything.
It’s one thing to choose the Half Moone as your venue, it’s quite another to rock the Half Moone in the way dozens of other fellow wedding professionals did this past weekend. From rock-star planning, to table settings with crystal beaded accents and large elegant candelabras, to beautiful lighting, to sushi and caviar, to top-shelf liquor served from two 4’ x 12’ solid ice bars, to a live band, to… it-just-didn’t-stop. It, in fact, was beyond just amazing – it was Cathy.
And as we watched her and Chips together throughout the evening, it was obvious – he is her man. And as her friends, it was the best part of our evening to watch him, the perfect gentlemen, in love with our friend... because it was obvious, Cathy is his lady.
