The air at beautiful
Maymont Estate was thick and heavy with the scent of rain before their ceremony, but we all had prayed that Jessica would ride the horse-drawn carriage with her Dad, and walk the aisle of the Italian Gardens to meet her Ryan without a drop falling. Thankfully the ceremony took place, but Grant and I found ourselves racing against those ominous clouds to snap a few quick group portraits before umbrellas were drawn and everyone began a mad dash to the reception hall. As wedding photographers, we are quite accustomed to the unpredictable, so even though the Bride and Groom's portraits together were literally cut short, we were able to snap a few candids with the umbrellas, as they moved quickly through the garden path on their way to join their guests. And in looking back, I was thankful for the rain, for those very quick candids ended up being our favorites from the day.
