So - last week, our eldest son, Mason Seth was to go on his Senior Trip to
New York - and had planned for many months to. When we went to drop him off at the bus to go he got very very sick and - well - couldn't go. He was, as were we, BUMMED.
The next day he got up and said - "...all better - let's go!" - and so it was that we indeed became Parents of the Year and drove him to
New York City to meet up with his other Senior buddies as they went on to
Lake Placid for the rest of the week.
It was great to be able to take him - but I'd really have to say the best part was Deb and I had the ability to go in to the city to
Times Square with our cameras. You'd expect the first words out of Toehead's mouth would have been "OH MY GRAPES!" - but nope - her first words were "
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING bringing
THAT camera to
THIS city!?" (meaning my 1Ds MKIII). Um... what do you
MEAN what was I thinking - and why wouldn't I bring my most
awesome camera and glass to the absolute most crazy bright colorful place on the planet? D'OH!
And be happy I did cause I got some amazing shots. Love Canon glass. Love
Times Square. No quantity of Ritalin would suffice to nix my giddiness or ability to focus on anything other than the "pretty lights!" Fortunately for me I do NOT have epilepsy because if I did I certainly would have gone into multiple uncontrollable seizures; and if you ask Toehead, I probably was about 3 seconds short of spazzing the entire time.
And oh ya... we ate at
Hard Rock Cafe in Time Square. Fantastic time.
Enough of the blather... here are some of the pics I took in wonderful Times Square. Hope you can try to enjoy them as I did taking them.

And my FAV from the entire evening - my bestest buddie, Toehead (especially love the ladder - just random!)
