We first met Gini & Sean on Skype and that's almost NEVER a great way to really "see" anyone. So when we pulled up to meet them at their friend's beautiful home, right on the Waterview, VA point / bluff on the Rappahannock River, we were noticeably giddy; we were going to capture something exceptional. I guess when you combine multiple things that are beautiful (i.e. location, people, location, love, location), you really shouldn't be able to fail.
From the beginning of their session to the very end, they were down with anything we wanted to capture. We went up and down hills, navigated 12 foot reeds and sea grass (complete with muck), walked in the COLD water / rocks and each time we pointed our glass in their direction, perfection just oozzed out.
And as the sun set over the marina with oyster boats floating in the cove, we were convinced we were in some magical, old forgotten nautical town in Maine. The water was dark and still but the colors from the sunset cascaded on it like magical reflections of colorful clouds. It was so magical, I totally expected a band of unicorns with rainbow tails to come prancing onto the rocky beach and cozy up next to them at any time (that would have been the ONLY thing to make this perfect engagement session more perfect).
We'll admit it, once we got to know Gini & Sean and hear how they respect and love each other, we left with just a little bit of a crush. And we cannot WAIT to be part of their #PlantationWedding this Summer at Shirley Plantation. Trust me, you'll want to check back for those images.
Here are just a few of our favorites (I'm thinking Gini is either a sister or a clone of Megyn Kelly of FOX News).
