When we met Sarah & Craig we knew we were going to have a blast being part of their day. And when Craig showed up to their wedding consult wearing a Boston Red Sox cap - other than the fact I had to regroup (cause I'm a huge YANKEES fan!) - we also knew that baseball was important to them. So - when we talked about taking their engagement photos in
Harbor Park - the stadium of the
Norfolk Tides - just them, home plate and our lenses - we knew we were REALLY in for a great time.
Fast forward a couple months - summer - baseball season in full swing (pun intended) - and time for Sarah & Craig's eSession. Only problem? Not only did we need the ballpark - so did the Norfolk
Tides. I picked up the phone and called Dave Rosenfield - the Tides GM and presented our couple's request. They are huge fans, attend many games every year, and wanted to have their pics taken at the park. Dave, without hesitation asked when, and we picked a date the team was out of town - and now, as they say - we hit a HOME RUN.
Dave opened up the park - just to us - assigned one of his staff, Ryan Dunphy (who was an absolute blast to work with - he even carried our bags and helped us with a couple shoot location ideas). For the next hour we had COMPLETE access to the park - and we completely took advantage of it.
TO THE NORFOLK TIDES, DAVE ROSENFIELD AND RYAN DUNPHY: We salute you, your professional staff, and are beyond impressed with your hospitality, facilities, and your unselfish desire to make our couple not only comfortable, but completely blown away in awe of your ball park. THANK YOU.
Sarah & Craig; Deb & I had a blast not only shooting your eSession in such a very cool place, but getting to know you both better. We also loved sitting down at
Kincaids over a couple drinks and appetizer's before our "second shoot" downtown Norfolk. We're gonna have a blast with you on your special day.
So - here's just pure fun!
