'm always a little nervous when photographing a friend...but when that friend is also a photographer...well, that just takes a whole different set of nerves! :0 Barb and her family invited us down for the day to Nags Head/Corolla where she and 130 or so of her husband's relatives were spending a week long reunion. Now I'm a beach girl through and through, and I couldn't wait to make the 2 hour drive to feel the sand between my toes, plop down in a chair and smell the salty air. Grant, on the other hand, has never really been able to fathom the phrase 'chillin on the beach', but good ole' Barb took care of him just fine! She had umbrellas and canopies galore so my fair & freckled, red-headed husband could actually discover the meaning of that phrase and truly enjoy himself. We had a blast the whole day and into the night, as we were treated to authentic Maryland Crabcakes, and true stories of diving w/ Sea Lions and all kinds of other Long/Hogan escapades. Why they even texted us on the way home that we had missed the guys catching a 30 inch shark from the beach! yikes!
Barb, Andy, and Shannon...thanks so much for allowing us to crash for the day with you! It was a true joy capturing you guys on the beach, enjoying the sand, surf, and one another. Here are a few of the favs of the day!
...the clean, dry shots before all the antics!

What 12 yr old has skin this amazing! Shannon it was fun seeing you again...you are a delight!
Barb...you HOT MAMA you! ;)

And this was the end of their clean, dry clothes...i love it!
...sheer glee!

...one Grant caught while I was shooting from the other side!
...still smilin' after getting soaked in water and now caked in sand. We couldn't ask for better subjects.

...and my favorite of the day..shot by Grant, that I couldn't resist tweaking with Jesh De Rox's Colorshift actions.
