Something magical happens when you get around super creatives who are seeking to outdo their own past creativity; I'll explain.
About a month ago, Deb & I got a phone call from Susan at
Colonial Heritage Golf Club. We've been long-time great vendor friends with Susan but she just moved to her new position and was asking if we'd could capture some shots of the ball room and surrounding grounds. Um... YES!
So - I called up our super fab planner friend Kelly at
Inspired Events by Kelly and said "...got any ideas?" What happened next was not only completely unexpected but truly a blast.
A week later, Susan was driving a golf cart with Deb, Kelly, Ashton (Kelly's right-hand) and me around Colonial Heritage to "take in the sights." We drove up a small hill and turned the corner; that's when it happened.
​Susan was driving the cart slowly and we're all looking down this long lane of amazing MASSIVE in-bloom magnolia trees lining both sides of the lane. Susan said "this could be a cool place to bring a bride." And I'm not certain who said it first, but Kelly and I BOTH SAID - "STOP THE CART!"
For the next 20 minutes ​Kelly, Ashton, Deb & I walked around the lane and surrounding fields and came up with one amazing plan; this could be the most amazing place for a beautiful ceremony (wait till you see the HUGE magnolia tree reception on Part 2 of this post), reception (wait till you see those too) and even possibly a tent in the tall blond grass field. We high-fived and made the decision to make it happen.
Kelly absolutely rocked and outdid herself. And if you know Kelly, you know she's a zero nonsense, make-it-happen, roll-with-the-punches girl. And she had plenty opportunity to prove it. She pulled together truly one of the most amazing team of all-star vendors (list below) to produce and manifest one of the most amazing stylized events we've EVER been part of or seen. Kelly meticulously planned for and executed ​FOUR (yes) stylized events IN ONE DAY!
- First, the ball-room at Colonial Heritage was converted into a beautiful reception site.
- Second, the outdoor mezzanine bride & groom with cocktail/h​ors d'oeurves site.
- ​Third, the Magnolia Ceremony Site was ​transformed completely from thin air to a work of art.
- ​Fourth, the Magnolia Reception Site. Zero adjectives to describe Jeremy from Stage Right and his team's ability to make ANY space STUNNING!
There aren't enough adjectives to describe the blast we had. This team of vendors is beyond creative, flexible and just cool. Thanks for letting us be a small part.
