n my family...you rock if you're born in November because you get to party all month! First, there is Mason's birthday on the 7th, then my sister-in-law's on the 13th, then my mom's on the 18th, and last my sister's on the 27th (and this year, her birthday lands smack dab on Thanksgiving Day!)
Speaking of birthdays, my mom celebrated a very special one this month...her 75th! She's an amazing mom, doesn't look or act her age...and will probably out live us all! ;-) We wanted to treat her to something special so my sister and I planned a trip to Canada, a place she has always wanted to visit. Now when I say planned, I use that word 'loosely', since I am in no way a planner. Diann orchestrated it all...I just gave her money and opinions...hee! Anyhow, we flew to Canada/Niagara Falls on the 14th and celebrated her birthday for a whole 5 days together. Just the girls! What a blast !
On the first day, we flew to Buffalo, picked up our rental car, and drove across the border to Canada/Niagara. Our hotel was great and our room even overlooked the falls!

We roped a nice guy into taking our one and only good photo together. I think he did a great job! ;-)

We were mesmerized with these little black squirrels...I'm not sure if you're supposed to feed them...but they were very aggressive little things. All you had to do was open up a cracker and they were on you like a monkey on a cupcake! And of course if you're hungry...you're my mom's new best friend!

On our first evening together, we surprised her with dinner at the top of Skylon Tower. We dined on filet mignon and salmon at 775 feet in the air overlooking the entire landscape. Quite the experience!

On the second day, we traveled to Toronto and stayed in a lovely hotel right outside the city. We took the subway downtown but it turned dark, C-O-L-D and rainy so I have no pictures. We bought umbrellas and I only WISH I had THAT picture. The wind was fierce and kept catching them upwards. We were a sight...completely lost in the dark, damp city...walking with inverted umbrellas, laughing till we peed and all my mom could do was say...I TOLD you we should have stayed in the Jacuzzi!
Why is Mom always right?
The next day we left that miserable mess and headed to Kingston. Fabulous cold crisp weather greeted us and we had a blast visiting boutiques and eating in the most wonderful restaurants. I think I'll call this the amazing eating trip, because it was!

All the stores in Kingston had interesting back alleys with scrumptuous light...I could have stayed there all day...but then we lost my sister and had to go hunting. Every time this happened, we turn in to little kids all over again...laughing and teasing Mom till she wanted to paddle us.

We awakened to snow the last full day of our trip. This was the view outside our hotel room, back in Niagara.

This little machine saved our butts more times than I like to think. My mom talked to Garmin (actually she thought the voice's name was "Carmen", but that's another whole story) from the back seat as if it were real person. ;-)

Happy Birthday Mom!...you're the most beautiful woman in the world to me.
