Bethany met Jon at a Bible School Tournament in 2003. In the first round, his team demolished hers. She forgave him though and two years later they were talking and emailing on a regular basis. ;-) When he offered to share quizzing material he'd written, she thought he was cool, but it took this shy guy an entire year to ask her out! When Bethany moved to Jon's home State of Kentucky for College, he was elated. It gave him the perfect opportunity to seal the deal by walking her to class and even bring her lunch on occasion! She loved the spoiling too.
Then Bethany found out that shy guys can propose when he took her to scenic Natural Bridge one afternoon. She was clueless, right up to the point where he led her to a secret spot and asked her to close her eyes. Imagine her surprise when Mr. Shy turned bold, got on one knee and held out a ring.
...and you think SHE was surprised? Imagine how their parents felt when these two lovebirds changed the wedding date from next year to this August! No nothing was wrong...just that they were head-over-heels in love and couldn't wait any longer!
Beth and Jon, it was a true joy to capture your day...you are meant for one another, so gracious and gentle...and so much in love.

SomethingBlueStudios...Danielle has several in her shop and soon to add more.
In the meantime, over in grooms-land, the boys were hard at work with their pocket scarves...and since the level of difficulty to fold them correctly was greater than the overall benefit of the look, everybody voted to nix them. Hence, no pictures of neatly folded scarves! btw-the vote? Unanimously AGAINST scarves.
... after the vote ... this was the reaction to no scarves!
after Jon composed himself, the couple stole a few private minutes together...
then, just before Daddy walked her down the isle...
this was the main cake, however they also decorated each table with delicious smaller cakes...each table with a different flavor. yum!

Now this is my kind of Family Portrait...

then we whisked those two away for a little jaunt downtown...where the really cool photos began. I have to say these guys are gutsy...they were so tired, but felt like it was worth it to get a little something unique for their memories. I'm pretty certain we accomplished it.
