So, I need to apologize right up front... this post is gonna be FULL of crazy amazing images; a lot of them. But I really have no reason to apologize because it'll be worth your time.
So, here's the backstory on Lauren & Ben; hold on.
Way back, in a time when Journey, Styx, ELO and Foreigner were the hit bands playing on vinyl LP's (and WalkMan's), I was in high school at Dayton Christian High School in Dayton, OH (circa: 1977-81). At the same time, Lauren's mom Tammy was one of my bestest friends (don't ask, I've already made it clear to her there will be no stories from her end because, well, there are many to be told. And because her memory is that of legend, there is no way I'm gonna let her share them with any of you).
Fast forward (way forward) to late 2013 and my Facebook lights up with a "
hey old friend..." (emphasis on 'old') message from Tammy. They were going to be in our area (Lauren was attending Nursing school in Chesapeake - small world) and wanted to see if we could schedule a Family Session with them. Duh... are you even KIDDING? Of
course we did it, and that's where it started. Because Lauren brought her then fiance Ben along for the family pics. and we knew he was absolutely part of their family. And we also knew right then there would be another opportunity to have those two in front of our glass again.
We were right; soon after the family session, we took Lauren & Ben to Williamsburg for their
Engagement Session, and the
Wedding Journey officially commenced.
There are just too many stories and too many laughs to detail here, but understand, we were honored to be part of their amazing
OBX Wedding Day at the Village Beach Club. To be included as real friends and not just the "photogs" was a special mix of honor and duty. And there aren't many other places on the planet where the sunset is as epic as an OBX wedding sunset (you're gonna see below).
So, go get a cup of coffee, or if this is Tammy reading this, a glass of wine and enjoy just a few (cough - a lot) of our favorites from their amazingly wonderful day (and trust me, there are just so many others we could have shown but your bandwidth is probably melting your router with these).
Thanks guys, for l letting us be part of your memories, but most of all, thanks for the trust you bestowed to us; we hope you know we are forever grateful.
